Thinking of Building or Renovating a home?
If you looking to build a new or two storey home, renovate your home, add a granny flat or a swimming pool, you may be able to apply for a quick 10 day building approval. A new home, renovation or improvement can be approved in 10 days or less without the need for a DA if it meets criteria in the NSW Government’s Housing Code. The Housing Code is an alternative to the traditional development application (DA) process saving home owners time and money with less paperwork and a quicker approval. Using the NSW Housing Code you may have a faster approval for your home. Click Link: http://housingcode.planning.nsw.gov.au/

Amendments to planning certificates
Potential buyers and Agents are encouraged to check with the vendors’ solicitors or conveyancers to ensure that a new statement is included in the Section 149(2) planning certficate attached to a Contract of Sale.
This has been bought about by recent changes to the Environmental Planning Asessment Regulation 2000, which commenced on 27 February, 2009. Which could impact on Contracts exchanged after this date.
A Section 149(2) certificate provides information about the zoning of a property and other relevant local planning controls. This certificate must be included with the Contract of Sale.
If you have exchanged a contract on or after 27 February, 2009 with a s149(2) certificate that does not contain this statement, you may need to contact your solicitor or conveyancer to discuss what effects this can have on the transaction. -Supplied by NSW Government Planning-
